Boost the SEO of your blog: 3 Tips
My favorite free SEO solution is Yoast’s WordPress SEO, which makes it easy with its traffic light meters (green and yellow red light). Make sure to keep in mind that the simple installation of this plugin is not useful in itself but many bloggers stop at this first step. Its true power lies in understanding how to use it correctly and choosing the right keywords. As well as the use of Rank Math which I recommend.
Go to Google’s keyword tool and spend some time researching those words to better understand which ones generate more traffic.
The trick with keywords is never to assume that you know which ones are best; ALWAYS research to make sure you are using the most popular words that best suit your product, service and/or blog topic.
If you use specific keywords to Drive SEO – such as “Carlos life coach” or “life coach in Colombia” instead of just “life coach”, it is much more likely to rank well – with the added advantage of getting more target readers, with more precision for your local business.
I recommend that you create a free AdWords account (or log into your account, if you already have one) and select the keywords you think are most likely to be searched for.
Adding your city and state will give you local search results to review, plus some great ideas for blog entries that fit what people are looking for.
Using the keywords entered, Google will display a list of other relevant keywords that were searched in the previous month. Export those words to an Excel list, rank the most popular and least popular words, and then save the document for easy reference later.
Make sure you have WordPress configured to name the URL of the page as the name of your message (which can be changed in settings> permalinks> message name), this will automatically put the keyword in the URL of your message – also called permalink. This is an essential component for SEO success.
Then simply use the default text for the “SEO Title” field at the bottom of the page (which is your title plus your blog name), and copy the first sentence of the entry into the “Meta Description” field.
If good writing or writing dictates NOT to use the keyword in the first sentence (which often happens but is not optimal), then paste into the first sentence of the blog that IF you have the keyword in it, or write one that uses the keyword and describes the post in a way that people want to read it.
Put the keyword in the “Meta Keywords” field and that’s it.
Make sure the keyword is included in the body of the message a few times, is relevant and appropriate, and then press publish, boost the blog SEO part here.
While there are other steps and tactics that help boost SEO, these recommendations are essential to this end.
Last Note – Be sure to offer readers multiple ways to subscribe. If you can’t turn them into subscribers via email or RSS and/or they’re not seeing your new messages on social media, they probably won’t think about returning to your site.
boost SEO may bring them to your blog the first time, but it may not bring them back. Keep this in mind when considering and implementing these strategies.
